Hey, everyone. I want to thank all who wished me well going into surgery for the knee replacement and the hearty welcome back I received. Just thought I’d let you know how much my new knee cost: $112,679 American dollars. I’m doing well.
Just started outpatient PT today and it felt good to stretch and work out the kinks. I have been advised that I will be going to a cane next week. I will miss my walker, aka, Louise. But, I will be using her again when I have the left knee replaced.
If anyone is thinking about a knee replacement, do it. What a difference it makes. No more pain–except of course from the incision and the severing of the muscles.
Again, thank you all. Lucy
Wow! $112,679. You are the bionic woman. I hope you have good health insurance. Obamacare, perhaps? Glad you’re doing well.
Medicare, backed by a supplement. Covered everything. Of course, that amount does not include the surgeon’s fee.

And no doubt the surgeon’s fee will be a hefty chunk o’ change. Wow.
The bill was broken down: knee parts were $39,000, and OR was $36,000 I don’t even remember the OR or post op. You’d think I’d deserve a tour. Lucy
I wonder if there are any “poor” doctors in the US? Congrats on the op though.
Thanks, moi. I’m really glad I did it. I was off the air for a few weeks and it was a needed breather, I think. Hope you’re doing well. Lucy
Yeah I am not too bad I guess. It’s Friday and I have the weekend before me, looking forward to 5pm for sure.
Glad to know the Sistah is doing well. Looking forward to more grime coming from you!
